Emergent Games releases prologue game for Resurgence, invite-only NFT drop

Today, new game studio Web3, Emergent Games, announced the launch of alternate reality (ARG) game The End for June 29th.

This is the first in a series of planned digital and immersive activities, leading to the launch of its first Web3 massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG), triple-A Resurgence.

The End is the first part of the game’s world-building phase – an interactive experience that introduces the setting, key characters, and politics that build the game’s intriguing story.

As the genesis event of Resurgence, the prologue uses social media to create a powerful narrative. The End immerses players from the beginning of the resurgence lore, allowing them to become part of the story. Players register through a messaging portal and are invited to digital platforms to investigate mysteries, share information, and earn rewards that have real value in the world of Resurgence.

Emergent Games will also launch a range of 1,000 limited-edition Resurgence Cryotag Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs), offered exclusively through a free invite-only mint. A limited number of Cryotags will also be available by playing The End. Players must sign up for the Resurgence newsletter to enter the contest.

The End will precede major Resurgence world-building game launches, including a mobile app and single-player game, ahead of Resurgence’s MMORPG phase in 2024.

Emergent Games formed earlier this year with the promise of attracting 2.7 billion gamers through a first game currency with a free ecosystem to play and choose. In a joint venture, London-based digital entertainment studio Maze Theory and crypto technology and operations platform Pluto Digital have invested a cumulative $7.6 million under the deal.

The partnership combines blockchain expertise and immersive gaming prowess to form a company at the forefront of the new decentralized gaming industry to launch the first triple-A Web3 game.

The game studio comprises a team of exceptional digital creatives with an illustrious collective gaming history, including Wonderbook, The London Heist, Peaky Blinders: The King’s Ransom, Doctor Who: The Lonely Assassins, Knightmare, FIFA, House of the Dead, Blood & Truth, Gran Turismo and Horizon Zero Dawn.
